Pre-Primary

Pre-Primary Education at WeCan Schools!

Academics form the backbone of any educational organization. The essence of the education process at WeCan lies in the development of a child. No advancements in the system will be effective if a child is unable to get the desired output. At WeCan, we make sure to prepare each student for a challenge with a deep understanding of the world and self. WeCan Schools firmly believe in this principle and are determined to deliver the best learning and growing experience to every student. In our endeavor to strengthen academics, WeCan has developed a team of Board of Advisors along with well-qualified and experienced educationists working towards research and development of curriculum according to the guidelines provided by the Educational Ministry. The entire pre-primary curriculum has been revised and rebuilt to meet global standards. Our school comprises a diligent team of teachers, teacher assistants, teacher supervisors, event organizers, curriculum coordinators, and teacher trainers.

Methodology and Curriculum

The curriculum at WeCan is designed to meet the needs of a child. Understanding the learning requirements of a child at a different age is the key feature around which the curriculum revolves. It is also ensured that the curriculum is framed in such a manner that it contains ample activities and practical teaching practices to develop the interest of the students. We make sure to extend learning by formulating various concepts. It is done through routine activities, hands-on experiences, interaction with others, and experimentation.

Understanding the need and abilities of preschoolers, we have introduced basic compulsory exercises with them to strengthen their gross motor skills. Similarly, fine motor activities like coloring, scribbling, paper folding, sponge dabbing, paper crumbling, playing with dough, paints, and various other art and craft activities are being practiced on a wider scale for better eye–hand and finger coordination.

Process of Skilled Reading – ‘Must Have’

“The best advice I ever got was that knowledge is power and to keep reading.” – David Bailey Reading is the foundation for attaining knowledge. If a child is successful in reading, all subsequent learning is facilitated. Taking the cue of the process and methodology, the team at WeCan makes sure to build the foundation of a child based on phonetics, visual memory, phonological awareness, and knowledge between sounds and letters. The steps of skilled reading are complex that require the engagement of many parts simultaneously.

Activity Based Learning (ABL)

Activity-Based Learning (ABL) is a process where each child receives a chance to learn at a pace as per the caliber through various supervised activities. This methodology also segregates children from passive recipients of the information to active learners. Children need a self-sustainable model where they learn to take their own decisions rather than spoon-feeding. ABL helps in building perceptions and inculcating the habit of decision-making from an early age.

Our methodology is based on the following:
  • Problem-based learning
  • Discovery-based learning
  • Inquiry-based learning
  • Project-based learning
  • Case-based learning

These techniques provide an ocean of experiences to the students by increasing their cognitive skills, boosting their confidence, and building their graph of knowledge constantly and consecutively. The students are also able to develop self-confidence; critical analysis and thinking are the needed push as they explore both familiar and unfamiliar concepts in a much more creative way.
